PerkinElmer Announces Expansion of OneSource Laboratory Services Agreement with Boehringer Ingelheim

WALTHAM–PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and their environment, today announced an expanded agreement with global pharmaceutical research and manufacturing company Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co KG, for PerkinElmer’s OneSource Laboratory Services.

The expanded agreement covers more than 1,000 multi-vendor scientific assets at Boehringer Ingelheim’s site in Ingelheim, Germany. Representing a six-fold growth since 2005, OneSource has delivered sizeable cost savings to Boehringer Ingelheim’s QC Chemicals and most recently, QC Pharma departments.

Dr Ulrich Baumann, Boehringer Ingelheim, noted, “The OneSource concept from PerkinElmer allows us to focus on our work. Thanks to their experience as a manufacturer of laboratory equipment and a multi-vendor service provider, OneSource has proven to be the ideal
partner for our equipment maintenance.”

Hansueli Goeldi, European Service Leader, PerkinElmer, said, “OneSource Laboratory Services significantly reduced Boehringer Ingelheim’s service costs by removing the complexity of managing different manufacturers’ laboratory equipment. On-site OneSource engineers provide a cost-effective, consolidated approach to instrument maintenance and qualification through a single point of contact, in place of multiple service providers.”

OneSource solutions facilitate faster and higher throughput by minimizing instrument downtime. OneSource teams offer scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services for laboratory equipment from a wide range of manufacturers, as well as continuous process improvements to maximise output and profitability.
